Parents-with a little Planning Maximize ALL Your Benefits

Business Insider Article, March 28, 2016:

When expecting a new baby it is such an exciting time! When anticipating new baby there are many things to anticipate, prepare for, and make sure your household is ready.  It is imperative that you understand and know your insurance plan.  You want to make sure that adequate medical coverage is in place, there is ongoing communication with your employer, and a plan is in place for medical leave.

Before you worry about maternity/paternity family leave coverage, you must make your insurance plan covers prenatal/maternity care with the medical team you prefer to receive your care from.

As a medical professional,  for the baby's delivery I would also seek out a medical facility that has high ratings and accreditation as a Level III or Level IV Neonatal Care Unit (NICU). When you're pregnant and anticipating a new baby you don't want to think about the "unthinkable": premature delivery, delivery emergencies, complications with the baby's health.  If something happens you want to be at a medical facility equipped with the highest level of care for the fastest response to you and your baby's needs.  There is nothing worse than having a medically fragile baby that must be transported to a different facility from where you're staying to receive your care.

Unfortunately, this is all something we assume our insurance covers. However you need to be sure the hospital(s), medical team (Mother and Baby) are all part of your insurance plan. Sometimes your doctor may be part of your plan and yet the hospital/medical center is not. You may have to make some tough decisions when putting your plan together.

As well, you should know how much coverage you have.  Do you have a maximum amount of time allowed in the hospital or a high deductible you must meet before coverage sets into place?  Do you have a co-pay or pay a percent of the fees.

Some insurance plans can cover short term disability or medical leave if something happens and you need to take extra time because of an unexpected occurrence.  This is especially worth considering if your employer does not pay for maternity/paternity short term leave.  When expecting you also want to make sure your taking care of your oral hygiene and vision with appropriate dental and vision care because oral/gum issues may demonstrate other potential health complications.  It's important to focus on whole health wellness and family preparedness. Be prepared and have a plan.

By planning in advance, a family plan may be set into place to maximize your experience and coverage to ensure things are as seamless as possible when your new little one arrives.

The Failures of Obamacare. How you can regroup.

Yahoo Finance Article, March 29, 2016: 7 Ways Obamacare Failed Americans

The intentions of Obamacare or the Affordable Care Act (ACA) were to help insure millions of Americans that could not otherwise afford insurance and to ensure that people who were sick would be able to maintain insurance.

Yet, Obamacare has basically made insurance unaffordable to those that are healthy and in the middle class.

Basically, these are the results of Obamacare, if you have an Obamacare or ACA plan:
  1. Your premiums, deductibles, and overall out-of-pocket expenses have dramatically risen.
  2. Simultaneously your overall coverage has shockingly decreased.
  3. You may not be on the same plan you previously had, as promised, because it cannot abide by the ACA rules.
  4. You may no longer be able to see your preferred doctor's, or you may no longer have a choice in the doctors you see because they cannot afford to take the ACA plans.
  5. Enrollment from Americans is lower than anticipated.  The numbers of people enrolled are 50% lower than anticipated.
  6. The cost of Obamacare to the state and federal governments is adding to the National Deficit.
  7. Obamacare Fraud is rampant.  People are fraudulent when reporting their income and receiving subsidies or coverage that they wouldn't otherwise receive.
As you will see in the SNL video below, the intentions and ideas, were meant for the good of the people.  Yet, these intentions have been lost and the system is broken. It has now become a parody amongst the American people and internationally.  Yet, it's not so funny when you're in the midst of it and struggling to get by.

Aging Population Expected to Double by 2050

Are you and your family prepared for this phenomenon?
This impacts us ALL...

According to a Yahoo.com news article (please see link below) posted about an hour ago, our global elderly population is expected to double by 2050 and the effects of this create many challenges if we do not adequately prepare.

Due to healthcare advances, people are able to live longer.  Fortunately sick people are surviving and cures are being found. Therefore, the morbidity or death rate, expected age of death, has grown.  As well, the oldest of the old, those over the age of 80, are expected to triple by 2050.

As a result, families must be prepared to care for aging parents and adults should make sure they have  estate plans in place to secure their interest and family's interest is in the best hands in case something happens.

In the United States, we need to make sure that as adults we ALL plan ahead for the future and this major imminent occurrence. It's important that as families we all have open discussions with forward thinking dialogue to ensure everyone has a plan in place.  It is also detrimental that as part of this plan we ALL have the appropriate insurance in place so that no one family member is stuck covering astronomical costs, such as, but not limited to: medical, caregiver, assisted living, facility care, therapeutic services, hospital visits, surgeries, home health, pharmaceuticals, and alternative treatments.

Along with the aging population expected to more than triple in about thirty years, the costs of healthcare and related services rise each year.

It is imperative to plan ahead, prepare a plan, and make sure you have comprehensive insurance.

  1. You should have coverage that allows you and your family to see the doctors and go to the hospitals you want to go to with a low deductible and out-of-pocket so that you are not financially burdened if something happens.
  2. You should have accident/disability/critical insurance plan that covers you if something happens and you cannot work.  Then you can continue to pay your monthly bills while getting better.
  3. Finally, you should have life insurance in the case something catastrophic happens to you so that your family has financial means to pay funeral costs and continue living.

Cancer-it affects us all.

Cancer affects us all.  Make sure you and your family are prepared for the unthinkable.

Celebrate Life and Live Each Day to the Fullest!

Congratulations to Leah Still for surviving Stage IV neuroblastoma and being cancer free for 1-year!  We are all so happy for Leah and her family!
ABC Story-Leah Still Cancer Free for One Year!

I can personally attest to how fast the "Cancer"diagnosis can infiltrate a family and cause immediate survival mode to hit.  My 30-something year old husband was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma (10+ pound tumor) on my son's fourth birthday.  He was only given a 20% chance of making it through the surgery.

Fortunately, we had excellent insurance and we could seek out the best-of-the-best for our medical team and hospitals.  Thankfully, and most likely due to the excellent medical team we had, my husband survived the surgery and recovery; and he is celebrating 3-years of being cancer free.  Now he gets to watch our two boys continue to grow and we can create family memories together.

I know too many people of all ages who have had to fight the cancer battle.  Some survived and some not as fortunate.  The worst is when people don't have the coverage they need to get the care they deserve and they end up with astronomical medical bills.

Please let me help you have the coverage you need to protect yourself and, or your family-medical, accidental/critical/disability, dental/vision, cancer, and life insurance.

Health Insurance Cyber Security

Health insurance is necessary for everyone to protect yourself and family members against the risk of illness and injuries.

Do you understand your coverage?

Many plans are complex and difficult to sort through.

Many people think the Marketplace or Online Exchange for Affordable Care (ACA) is their only choice.  Unfortunately, this is often the MORE EXPENSIVE option with less coverage. And it has also been reported by credible sources, Fox News that there are major security issues putting your identity at risk for identity theft from hackers.

To protect yourself, find a Benefit Consultant to help you understand your coverage or get new comprehensive coverage while making sure your information is kept confidential and SECURE!

Please let me help you do the same.  How would you like to have coverage or better coverage and save hundreds of dollars/month with the assistance of a personal benefit consultant guiding you through the process?  Consultations are free of charge.

Why you need a Benefits Consultant Today!

You may have insurance, you may not...regardless, you could have a major life event that leaves you and your family in financial duress!  You can prevent this from happening if you have the right insurance plan(s).

Recent TIMES article, March 7, 2016, from the Health segment reveals a family's healthcare nightmare, even though they thought they were full covered.  Unfortunately, to their detriment they did not fully understand their coverage; and this is typical for the majority of the American population.

If you are NOT sick or are NOT within the National Poverty Level,
DO NOT sign up for Obamacare!

The coverage is menial and the costs for the insured are extensive with little to show for it.Some Insurance companies, are now forced to cut even more corners, substantially raise prices, and may not make it if things do NOT change.  As a result your plan can change midyear in regards to your providers and facilities....

So please, put your mind at ease. Make sure you, your family, and your friends have comprehensive coverage; and even more importantly, you understand your coverage.  This is more than possible and can be affordable.

CONSULTATIONS ARE FREE!
